SHAMELESS NOMINATED FOR TWO AWARDS!

We’re thrilled to announce that Shameless has been nominated for two Utne Independent Press Awards — one for Best New Magazine and one for Best Design! These awards, handed out by the fine folks at Utne magazine, recognize excellence in alternative and independent publishing. The list of nominees appears in the Nov/Dec issue of Utne and will be online soon at www.utne.com/uipa, with the winners to be announced in the Jan/Feb issue. Quite frankly, it’s an honour just being nominated! We’re blushing like crazy over here.

Shameless 2!

Shameless #2 is in stores now. Subscribers, please sit tight — your mags will be on their way soon. We have to sort through Canada Post rules about mass mailings and are very sorry for the delay. We hope it will be worth the wait.

Torontonians can visit us on Sunday, October 17 at Canzine, Canada’s largest festival of zine culture and indie arts. It’s from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Gladstone Hotel, 1214 Queen St. W. We will be there all day, so stop by and say hi. Co-editors Nicole and Melinda will be giving a workshop on how to shamelessly promote yourself at 1 p.m. For more info visit www.brokenpencil.ca, it’s going to be a crazy fun day.
