The Morgentaler Clinic in Fredericton—New Brunswick’s only abortion clinic—is slated to close on July 18. But Reproductive Justice New Brunswick is trying to raise $100,000 for the clinic to extend its lease agreement, giving it time to explore its options. Hey, it only took 1,500 years! The Church of England announced Monday that women will be allowed to become bishops starting next year.

The annual SlutWalk Toronto took place on Sunday, July 12. You know the story by now: Three years ago, a Toronto police officer told a group of students that “women should avoid dressing like sluts in order not to be victimized,” and the annual march was born. SlutWalk has since attracted criticism from both feminists and non-feminists. You can read an interview with one of the Walk’s organizers about where the movement came from and where it’s headed here.

Lucy Flores is rumoured to be in the running to become Nevada’s first Latina Lieutenant Governor. But she’s in the news for another reason, too: she recently spoke out about the abortion she had at 16, saying plainly, “I don’t regret it.” Way to go, Ms. Flores!
