March 4th, 2011     by Julia Horel     Comments

For the 7th consecutive year, the National Day of Action is an opportunity for girls and young women to unite to create action-oriented projects that raise awareness about the issues affecting them and their communities. This year, the National Day of Action will be held on March 8th, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of International Women’s Day and the official launch of Girls Action Foundation’s LIGHT A SPARK campaign. Nearly 40 community actions will be activated from photo exhibits and variety shows, to workshops and the creation of zines educating girls about safe cosmetics.
