Beyoncé bestowed her presence upon the Dixie Chicks at the Country Music Awards. It was magical, obviously.

Hugh Segal, a former Conservative Senator, released a discussion paper this week outlining a basic income pilot project for Ontario. The proposal would guarantee a unconditional basic income, currently valued at $1320 for a single person, or 75 percent of the poverty line. The plan would replace social assistance, serve as a no-strings-attached payment, and would be non-taxable. The government is asking for Ontarian’s opinions via an online survey and in public consultations.
