british girl guides add safe sex to skill set

August 7th, 2007     by Thea Lim     Comments

The British arm of Girl Guides has added “safe sex” to the skills they deem important:

“The guide was based on a poll of 1,000 Girl Guides aged 7 to 25, The Telegraph reported…The responses varied widely for different age groups. More than 90 percent of the over-16 group put money management first, followed by lifesaving skills, public speaking, practicing safe sex and producing a good resume.”

I also like this:

“The 10- to 15-year-olds value healthy cooking, team leadership, the old-fashioned skill of pitching a tent and standing up to boys.”

Does anybody know if Canadian Girl Guides learn safe sex?
